Women and girls in the Global South are disproportionately affected by the impact of climate change. Despite having a crucial role in their communities, women have less economic and political influence, and rely more on natural resources for their livelihood, especially in rural areas, making them more exposed to the impacts of climate change. Debt-for-climate swaps promise to tackle both issues, but their potential remains unexplored.
