Striving for an interconnected Nordic Region in changing times

This programme outlines the Presidency’s priorities and objectives for 2026. We are strongly committed to Nordic co-operation and look forward to driving it forward.
The work of the Nordic Council of Ministers has proven valuable for everybody in our countries and made this a world-class region over time. We have all benefited and enjoy high levels of security and sustainability, but it has taken more than half a century. The Nordic Region has not stood still. It has evolved and moved forward. Only by constantly evolving will we be able to retain the core of what is Nordic. We must continue that work and ensure the way we work together is always the best possible.
As the world changes, it is important that the Nordic Region keeps looking for sustainable new solutions to challenges and stresses the Nordic perspective in international forums. The Nordic Region: Strong ties in changing times.
