Traces of North - Book

Published in 2025, the book, Traces of North, is a curated encyclopedia of Nordic impact. It builds upon years of gathering Nordic Traces from around the world.
Traces come in all shapes and sizes – feelings, concepts, mindsets, buildings, people and products. Anything that has made its way from the Nordic countries out into the world and made a difference, brought about change or affected people and/or places.
We live in a world where Traces of North can be found everywhere. For example, did you know that the pacemaker comes from Sweden or that sunglasses are an Inuit invention? Or that if you find yourself in Japan, you can dine with Moomins and even visit an entirely Moomin-themed park, immersing yourself in the Moomin universe?
This book presents our collection of traces to the world, and in doing so gives these stories the attention they deserve, expands people’s horizons and sparks their interest in our Nordic values and the impact they have had on the world.
Nordic diplomatic missions have the opportunity to order a free copy of the bookTraces of North, by contacting us on profiling@norden.orgNB Shipping is not covered by the Nordic Council of Ministers.
