Who is Behind Nordic Sustainable Construction?

All the outputs listed above in this Toolbox are a result of close collaboration between various contributors that combined make up the programme of Nordic Sustainable Construction:

Work Package Leaders 1–5

  • Finland: Finish Ministry of the Environment
  • Norway: Nordic Innovation
  • Sweden: Form/Design Center
  • Iceland: Ministry of Infrastructure and Green Building Council Iceland
  • Denmark: Danish Authority of Social Services and Housing
Nordic Innovation, an organisation under The Nordic Council of Ministers, funds the collaboration.

The Nordic Harmonisation Steering Group

To ensure the continued Nordic collaboration on harmonising building regulations and a joint Nordic construction sector, the Nordic Ministers for Construction and Housing have mandated a steering group for harmonisation of regulation, which also follows our programme.

The Reference Group

To ensure that the knowledge, findings, and progress of the programme are anchored in the Nordic countries, a reference group has been appointed which has followed and contributed to the programme since 2021.
The reference group consists of the work package leaders and government representatives from Denmark, Finland, Norway, Iceland, Sweden, Faeroe Islands, Greenland and Åland and furthermore representatives from frontrunning organisations and stakeholders, such as Nordic Innovation and Form/Design Center. The group meets four times a year to share the latest results from the work packages, get inspiration from real-life projects and thought leaders, hear news from the secretariat and discuss relevant topics.

The reference group contributes with valuable discussions on the work and progress being done to transform the construction sector in a more green direction across the Nordic countries. Furthermore, the group also creates the opportunity to meet Nordic colleagues and share culture, experiences, and ways of living.
