The Nordic-Baltic cooperation on digitalisation plays a key role in realising the Nordic Council of Ministers Vision 2030: to become the most sustainable and integrated region in the world. Through collaboration, we are stronger and better equipped to navigate rapid technological advancements, climate change, and shifting geopolitical landscapes. Together, we will ensure that our region continues to lead the digital transition, enhances global competitiveness for our businesses, and promotes sustainability as well as ensures long-term resilience, prosperity, and welfare.
Achieving a digitally integrated region requires leading the digital transformation in open, secure, responsible, and democratic manner – leaving no one behind. The high level of digital maturity across the Nordic-Baltic region presents a significant competitive advantage with untapped potential that must be fully harnessed. A robust and well-functioning digital infrastructure is vital to the health and development of our societies. Our cooperation aims to ensure that everyone in the region benefits from digitalisation, regardless of age, gender, wealth, education, or digital skills.
The Cooperation Programme for Nordic-Baltic Cooperation on Digitalisation 2025–2030 will contribute to a public sector that meets the needs of both people and businesses across the region, both now and in the future. It will promote regional mobility and connectivity, enhance digital skills and competencies, and encourage the responsible use of digital technologies. Furthermore, it will position the region as a leader in realising the twin digital and green transitions, fostering sustainable growth in cooperation with key stakeholders. The Cooperation Programme also aligns closely with relevant EU policies, ensuring that our efforts complement and contribute to broader European goals.
With this Cooperation Programme, we aim to leverage our strengths, learn from our collective experiences, and address challenges that are too large for any single country to tackle alone. Together, we will maintain our region’s leadership in the digital transformation.
